DANCE CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Creative Movement
Ages 30 months–3 years
Designed for our youngest dancers, Creative Movement introduces music, rhythm, coordination, and imaginative movement in a fun and nurturing environment. Dancers explore basic dance concepts through songs, games, props, and creative activities while building confidence, listening skills, and classroom independence.
Tiny Tots
Tiny Tots Ballet/Tap
Ages 3–4
This combination class gives young dancers an exciting introduction to both ballet and tap. Students learn basic ballet positions, balance, coordination, rhythm, and introductory tap steps through age-appropriate exercises and music. The class encourages creativity, confidence, and a love of dance while helping dancers develop important classroom and social skills.
Tiny Tot Tumbling
Ages 3–4
Tiny Tot Tumbling introduces young students to basic acrobatic movement in a safe and encouraging environment. Dancers work on balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, and foundational skills such as rolls, bridges, and beginning cartwheel progressions. Fun activities and obstacle courses help keep little bodies moving and engaged.
Mini, Petite, Junior, Teen & Senior Classes
Kindergarten–12th Grade
Classes are divided by age and ability level to provide appropriate instruction, encouragement, and opportunities for growth.
Ballet
Ballet develops the strong technical foundation that supports every style of dance. Students learn proper posture, alignment, musicality, terminology, flexibility, and control through barre work, center exercises, and movement across the floor. As dancers progress, they build greater strength, precision, artistry, and confidence.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance combines elements of ballet and jazz with expressive movement and storytelling. Dancers learn to connect movement with music and emotion while developing flexibility, control, balance, and fluidity. This class encourages students to communicate through movement and grow as both technicians and performers.
Tap
Tap focuses on rhythm, timing, coordination, and musicality by turning the dancer’s feet into a percussion instrument. Students learn foundational steps, combinations, and rhythmic patterns while developing clarity of sound and confidence. More advanced dancers explore faster footwork, complex rhythms, and performance skills.
Acro
Acro combines dance technique with elements of gymnastics and tumbling. Students develop strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and body awareness while learning skills such as bridges, handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, and progressions toward more advanced tricks. Safety, proper technique, and individual progress are emphasized.
Hip-Hop
Hip-Hop is an energetic class that introduces dancers to current, age-appropriate movement styles, grooves, isolations, rhythm, and choreography. Students build coordination, musicality, confidence, and performance quality while developing their own personal style in a fun and encouraging atmosphere.
Musical Theater
Musical Theater combines dance, acting, character development, and storytelling. Students learn choreography inspired by Broadway and popular stage productions while developing facial expression, stage presence, confidence, and performance skills. This class is perfect for dancers who love to entertain and bring characters to life.
Advanced Level & Company Classes
Kindergarten–12th Grade
Advanced and Company classes are designed for dedicated dancers who are ready for more intensive technical training, challenging choreography, and increased performance expectations. Placement may be based on age, experience, technical ability, maturity,
and instructor recommendation.
Advanced Ballet
Advanced Ballet provides focused training in technique, alignment, strength, flexibility, musicality, and artistry. Dancers work through increasingly complex barre exercises, center combinations, turns, jumps, and movement across the floor. Students are expected to demonstrate commitment, discipline, and attention to detail.
Advanced Lyrical
Advanced Lyrical challenges dancers to combine strong technical execution with emotional expression and musical interpretation. Students work on fluid transitions, controlled movement, extensions, turns, leaps, and storytelling while developing a mature and authentic performance quality.
Advanced Jazz
Advanced Jazz develops strength, flexibility, precision, musicality, and dynamic performance skills. Dancers train in isolations, turns, jumps, kicks, floor work, and intricate choreography. The class emphasizes clean technique, versatility, confidence, and the ability to adapt to different styles of jazz movement.
Pointe
Pointe is an advanced ballet class for dancers who have demonstrated the necessary strength, alignment, technical foundation, and maturity. Students learn proper pointe shoe preparation, placement, balance, foot articulation, and classical pointe technique. Enrollment requires instructor approval to ensure each dancer is physically and technically ready.
Advanced Hip-Hop
Advanced Hip-Hop focuses on detailed choreography, musicality, texture, precision, freestyle development, and performance quality. Dancers explore a variety of hip-hop foundations and commercial dance styles while learning to execute movement with confidence, control, and individuality.
Advanced Tap
Advanced Tap challenges dancers with intricate rhythms, faster footwork, syncopation, improvisation, and complex combinations. Students develop greater clarity, speed, musicality, and control while learning to perform as both individual musicians and part of an ensemble.
Advanced Acro
Advanced Acro is designed for experienced students who have established strong foundational technique. Dancers work on advanced balance, flexibility, strength, tumbling, partner skills, and transitions that can be safely incorporated into choreography. Skill progression is based on each dancer’s readiness and instructor approval.
Advanced Musical Theater
Advanced Musical Theater combines challenging choreography with acting, character work, storytelling, and stage performance. Students learn to make strong artistic choices, connect with an audience, and perform with confidence while developing the versatility required for musical theater productions.
Leaps & Turns
Leaps and Turns provides concentrated training in the technical skills dancers use across ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary choreography. Students work on alignment, spotting, balance, strength, flexibility, jump mechanics, turning technique, and safe landings. The class helps dancers improve consistency, height, control, and confidence.
Adult Classes
Our adult classes provide a welcoming environment for dancers of varying experience levels. Whether returning to dance or stepping into a studio for the first time, adults can enjoy movement, music, exercise, and personal growth without pressure.
Adult Ballet
Adult Ballet offers a supportive introduction or return to classical ballet technique. Students work on posture, alignment, balance, flexibility, strength, and graceful movement through barre and center exercises. Modifications are available so each dancer can participate comfortably and progress at an individual pace.
Adult Jazz
Adult Jazz is an upbeat class combining dance technique, stretching, conditioning, and lively choreography. Students develop coordination, flexibility, musicality, and confidence while enjoying a fun and energizing workout.
Adult Tap
Adult Tap explores rhythm, musicality, coordination, and classic tap technique. Students learn steps and combinations at an approachable pace while improving balance, memory, and timing. No previous tap experience is required unless otherwise noted.
Adult Hip-Hop
Adult Hip-Hop is a high-energy class featuring accessible, age-appropriate choreography inspired by current and classic hip-hop styles. Students build coordination, rhythm, confidence, and stamina while enjoying a fun workout in a relaxed and encouraging setting.
